Established in 1894, the MMAC is a free, publicly-accessible teaching museum. It houses a world-class permanent collection of close to 12,000 objects, including significant historic and contemporary works of art.

In 2023, the MMAC opened the doors to its new campus home: a three-level, 17,000-square-foot facility that showcases Montana’s largest publicly-owned collection of art and some of the most significant collections of art and artifacts in the West.
