Graduate School
Cultivating the talent and ability of a new generation of scholars and professionals.

Connor Meyer, a wildlife biology doctoral student in UM’s Ungulate Ecology Lab

Your gift to the UM Foundation in support of the Graduate School helps us cultivate a new generation of scholars and professionals, who will contribute new knowledge to the scientific, economic and cultural needs of the state, the nation and the global community.

The Graduate School carries out its mission through student advocacy, promotion of diversity and inclusivity, promotion of research, and development of dynamic paths for education, including housing the Interdisciplinary Graduate Program.

Some of the great work being done by the Graduate School includes:

  • Our mentorship initiative for Native graduate students
  • The Dean’s Fellowship Endowment, which supports ad hoc student needs
  • An interdisciplinary speaker/research series hosted on campus
  • The popular Confluence podcast

Our graduate students provide a crucial link between and among the University’s major enterprises, providing invaluable undergraduate instruction; contributing new ideas and energy to the research mission; and carrying out vital service both to the University and the broader community in the form of arts, creative performances and work in for-profit and nonprofit sectors.

Thank you for supporting UM during The Big Give. Every gift — of any amount — makes a difference. Because when we all give, we unite for One Day. One UM.
