Dean Emeritus David Forbes held the position of Dean of the College of Health (formerly known as the College of Health Professions and Biomedical Sciences) at the University of Montana for 26 years. During his tenure, Forbes helped save the School of Pharmacy and gave faculty members within the college room to spearhead many impactful programs.
Forbes oversaw significant growth at the college, including construction of its home, the Skaggs building, as well as creation of clinical doctoral degrees in physical therapy, pharmacy and various new pharmacy residency programs.
He transformed the pharmacy program, elevating it from published probation to achieving a top 10 ranking in funding from the National Institute of Health. Throughout his tenure, Forbes' greatest accomplishment was the lives he forever changed, especially those in the Skaggs School of Pharmacy.
