Rise Up Together UM

Your gift to the UM Foundation in support of TRIO Student Support Services helps students with limited resources, first-generation students and students with disabilities succeed and graduate with a bachelor’s degree from UM.  

TRIO Student Support Services is a program made possible by the U.S. Department of Education that aims to increase college graduation and graduate school enrollment for eligible students at UM. Your support of this critical, life-changing program helps those enrolled students achieve their higher education goals. 

Each year, we provide academic support services to 375 active students from every academic department and major on campus. To participate, students must meet eligibility guidelines that are based on household income, their parents’ education or student disability.  

Your gift helps TRIO Student Support Services:  

• Maintain our textbook loan program.  
• Provide students with graphing calculators, voice recorders, smart pens, laptop loans or other classroom technology needs.  
• Provide personal student needs not supported or permissible by our grant, such as graduation caps and gowns, or personal needs, including professional dress for employment interviews.
