School of Journalism
Help ensure School of Journalism students thrive.

Your gift to the UM Foundation in support of the School of Journalism Impact Fund helps us direct essential resources so students and faculty can thrive.

Your unrestricted support helps recruit new and diverse voices to our program and bolster experiential learning opportunities. When you give today, your gift boosts our capacity to educate and mentor the newest journalistic voices.

When you give to the School of Journalism Impact Fund, you help:

  • Provide financial support to students serving unpaid or low-paying internships in newsrooms in Montana, the region, the country and the world.
  • Build more robust recruiting efforts that will grow our student body, enhance diversity and create the journalists of tomorrow. We believe it is imperative to mentor young journalists from diverse backgrounds to provide fresh perspectives in news coverage and support our democracy.
  • Support experiential learning opportunities, long the hallmark of the School of Journalism, and the practice of learning while doing. Current experiential opportunities include reporting from the legislature, study abroad and professionally-published capstone projects like the Native News Honors Project, which has students reporting from Montana’s Indian Country for a newspaper tab distributed each spring.

Thank you for supporting UM during The Big Give. When we give — all together UM — we change lives. We change the world. We rise up together.
