Your gift to the UM Foundation in support of the Davidson Honors College General Scholarship Fund helps us direct essential resources so students and faculty can thrive. 

With a record number of applicants to the DHC, our need for scholarship support has never been greater. The DHC has proven itself as a positive enrollment driver for UM. For many students, scholarships make the difference for recruitment, retention and graduation; they also provide resources to support student engagement in activities such as research, creative scholarship, internships, service learning, study abroad and leadership development. Your support bolsters essential recruitment scholarships and provides emergency need-based aid for honors students, allowing the DHC to make a world-class education at UM accessible for all. 

When you give to the Davidson Honors College General Scholarship Fund, you help: 

• Recruit and retain greater numbers of honors students. In fall 2021, the DHC saw an 200% increase in student applications over the two previous academic years. With this significant increase, we have a rapidly growing need for unrestricted scholarship support as we aim to maintain our 90% student retention rate. 
• Support students in myriad ways with need and merit based recruitment scholarships, and support for continuing students to take advantage of opportunities such as internships, field experiences, research, study abroad and community engagement. 
• Directly support students confronted with financial hardships that could hinder their academic success. We have witnessed increased financial needs among our students due to unforeseen circumstances such as the COVID-19 pandemic. In response, we strive to ensure our hardest hit students receive support through program completion.
• Provide a world-class honors education at the University of Montana, making transformational learning opportunities accessible to talented, motivated students from across the state, nation and world — regardless of their background or financial status.
